The National Etruscan Museum and the famous painted tombs of the Necropolis can be visited daily, except Mondays, 8:30 to 19:30 without a lunch break. Reservation not required. The ticket office closes one hour earlier. It is guided by the extraordinary opening of great historical and archaeological, of the painted tombs "dei Tori", "dei Baroni", "degli Auguri" and the Necropolis Scataglini belonging to the great archaeological site of Tarquinia.
In 2004 the painted Etruscan tombs of Tarquinia have become a World Heritage site by UNESCO because "exceptional source of knowledge of life, customs and religious sentiment of the Etruscans. They are indeed the extraordinary testimony of ancient painting preserved in culture flourished in historical times on the shores of the Mediterranean. "
